Thomas Vanek is really good at hockey, btw. He's not my favorite Sabre, but he's obviously the best Sabre right now.

Is this blog for real? Why would the Devils move a couple of their young blue chip prospects for a one dimensional European that'll just disappear for long stretches of the season. They'll go after young players and UFA's. You can dream about making that Larsson and Henrique deal all that you want, but it isn't happening. We're talking Lou Lamarello here.

He's a good player but just not a franchise type player. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, he is Marrian Hossa like to me. Talented, productive, but just not a contender's top player in my opinion.

I distinctly remember arguing with people when I joined because they thought Pominville was the worst contract on the team, not Vanek.

He's a good player but just not a franchise type player. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, he is Marrian Hossa like to me. Talented, productive, but just not a contender's top player in my opinion.

Good luck, since Ryan O'Reilly cannot be traded, for one year, after being offersheeted by the Flames. He'll be able to be moved sometime in late January.

Regarding Pominville, I had a huge day long debate on Hfboards a few years ago when I said he was a 2nd line player on a team with talent. You would have thought I said I wanted his first born. Pretty funny

Now I see more and more people say Poms was/is a 2nd line winger

Pominville was my favorite Sabre. I probably might have been debating you on there if I recall it correctly. Pominville is a capable first line RW. Only thing I disliked about Pommer was him playing the point on the PP.

He's insane........you're closer to the truth. He's nothing but a bad cap hit, on a bad team. Looks like the Sabres are planning on joining the KHL, with all of the Russian content. Best hope that they don't follow Kovelchuk, but at least you still own your first rounder.

Yeah, he's a good player and if the Sabres were a Cup contender, myself? I'd hope he did everything he did as a Sabre, but wish there was a bigger scorer, more size and maybe grit on the top line
